A gouache and watercolor New Years painting of a lagoon in the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on New Years Day 2021. So wonderful to have the ability to be in the forest for a while, thinking about the light, the color and the possibilities for the coming year.
This is one of my favorite places near our cabin. I painted this as it was snowing and everything was in a kind of suspension.
there is an amazing ukranian catholic church that was built in 1969 near our place in the catskills. The building was built with 12×12 rough hewn beams without any joinery and we always love seeing it. It is on Route 23a in Hunter, NY. Here is my painting of this structure.
