Why: AFAS has been a pillar of the community in Winston-Salem for almost 2 decades. Artists who are associated with AFAS benefit greatly from the exposure help that the Red Dog Gallery provides. As artists, we’ve been asked to do so little for the organization. AFAS volunteers sit on the executive board, staff the gallery, maintain the building, advocate within the community, and promote us as artists. This event is a way for the artists to honor these volunteers and to engage in meaningful conversations about the organization and the arts community of Winston-Salem.
Who: ALL of the Artists of AFAS hosting the Volunteers of AFAS.

Where: River Birch Lodge, Canoe Room, 3324 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106
What: Please join us for dinner to honor the volunteers of AFAS and Red Dog Gallery. The 630 North Liberty building is 11 years old now, and we wouldn’t have this community gallery, the park, the artists’ spaces, and the community room without the hard work and dedication of the volunteers at AFAS. This invitation is going out to you because you are an AFAS artist, and we really hope that you can join us for this event. Cost per participant: $80. + cash bar for all beverages and any upcharges beyond the meals listed below. The cost of the event covers your meal and your part in hosting the volunteers. Tax and Tip for the restaurant workers are included. Any monies left over after expenses for the meal will be gifted to AFAS as a donation from the artists.
Dinner Options:
Lodge Pasta
Pappardelle pasta tossed with squash, zucchini, red peppers, carrots and onion
in a lemon pepper cream sauce. Choice of grilled shrimp, grilled chicken or no
protein (Vegetarian).
Shrimp & Grits
Sauteed shrimp in a spicy tasso ham gravy with spinach & andouille sausage,
served over Guilford Mills white stone ground grits.
Hickory Grilled Chicken
8 oz. lightly seasoned chicken breast grilled over our hickory wood fire, basted
in your choice of apple-chipotle BBQ sauce, Bourbon-Honey glaze OR a Thai
ginger sauce. Served with smashed sweet potatoes and sauteed vegetables.
Blackened Catfish
Blackened catfish filet served over red beans and rice and topped with a
mango-pepper relish.
Salad is optional (4.50 per order), Dessert: We are getting a cake to share, included in the price.
How:
You can RSVP here. Please sign up as soon as you can, as space is limited. You can pay for your ticket by Venmo or Paypal to @clzacht. I can also accept Zelle, check, or cash if you let me know. As of today, we have only 17 places remaining.

Q: Can I contribute more than the cost of the ticket? A: Yes, its no problem and would be very appreciated. All additional proceeds will go directly to AFAS as a contribution from the artists after the event.

Q: What if I sign up and have to cancel? A: We have to give the restaurant final numbers by May 4. If you have to cancel after that, we hope that you will donate your ticket price to the event and AFAS.
