ColorSpace3 is a 48″ x 60″ oil painting on canvas. It is not representative of any actual space, but rather it has been made over a long process of dialog with the work in progress wherein each action leads me to the next response, without a pre-determined overall concept. The emergent painting coalesces after time and consideration, layer upon layer.
Within this process, answers to questions of choice and gesture are allowed to come forth from a dreamscape of memories, impressions, and rhythms to create a space defined by color and light.
I have mocked up the canvas into an imagined room so that you can see the scale of the work and what it might look like framed.
